A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Custom Badges

1. Designing Your Badge

  1. Sketch or Digitalize: Start by sketching your design by hand for a personal touch. If you're tech-savvy, whip up an impressive digital design using graphic design software.
  2. Printing Guidelines: Whether it's a basic outline or a detailed masterpiece, print your design on standard printer paper weighing between 80 to 100gsm. Steer clear of photopaper—its rigidity won't give you the desired flexibility.
  3. Edge Planning: Remember to leave a little extra space around your design. This will ensure it wraps seamlessly around the edges without cutting off any important details.

2. Cutting Your Design

  1. Precision Matters: Utilise the badge cutter to precisely trim your design. Insert your design from the top, align it with the cutter's hole, then pull the lever. What you'll get is a flawless circular cut, ready for pressing.

3. Press and Pin

  1. Assemble: Begin by layering the metal badge front, your design, and then the clear mylar disc (all facing upwards).
  2. Press Time: With a firm pull on the handle, the press will hold onto the badge. Slide the plate to the opposite side and place the badge back with its blank face towards you.
  3. Complete the Badge: A final pull down on the arm will seal your design into the badge. Simply raise the arm, and there you have it—a freshly minted badge, crafted by you!
